Commencing at 00.30 on Sunday, 13th February, 1966, colour light signals will be brought into use in place of certain existing semaphore running signals between the above mentioned points. The existing Aldershot Junction South, Ash Station and Wanborough signal boxes will be abolished. The existing Pinks Hill Crossing signal box will be converted to a gate box, as shown on the enclosed diagram. A new signal box known as Ash Crossing will be provided 123 yards the Guildford side of the existing Ash Station signal box as shown on the enclosed diagram. Full details of the new signalling are shown on the diagram enclosed with this Instruction. A plate bearing the prefix letters and the number of the signal will be fixed beneath each colour light stop signal. The prefix letters will denote the signal box which operates the controlled signal as follows:- 'DW' North Camp 'FW' Ash Crossing 'GW' Aldershot Junction North 'WX' Guildford Yard Automatic stop signals will be prefixed by the letters 'WA'. Other automatic signals not capable of exhibiting a red aspect are indicated on the enclosed diagram by the letters 'RWA'. These signals will not bear an identification plate. |
